TradeAv uses Stripe to process secure debit and credit card payments. Buyers can pay using their card at checkout, and funds go directly to your connected Stripe account.
To receive card payments, you must connect your Stripe account under:
My Account → Listing Preferences → Payment

Stripe Fees
Stripe charges the following fees in Australia:
- 1.75% + 30¢ per domestic card payment
- 2.9% + 30¢ per international card payment
- + 1–2% currency conversion fee (if applicable)
Stripe automatically deducts fees before sending payouts to your bank account.
First Payout Delay
Your first payout from Stripe may take 5–7 business days. This is a standard Stripe security and verification requirement.
After your first payout, future payouts usually take:
2–3 business days.
“Payment Required Within 24 Hours” Setting
When creating a listing, we recommend ticking the option:
✔ Payment Required Within 24 Hours
This prevents buyers from holding your item without paying and ensures faster sales.
Can Stripe Do Refunds?
Yes. Sellers can issue refunds through their Stripe Dashboard.
Refunds can be:
- Full refunds
- Partial refunds
Refunds go back to the buyer’s original card and usually take 3–10 business days.

Why Stripe Needs Your Details
Stripe is a licensed financial service and must follow strict laws that prevent fraud, money laundering, identity theft, stolen card use, and illegal transactions.
These laws require Stripe to verify who is receiving money. This protects:
- You (prevents someone opening an account in your name)
- Buyers (stops fraudulent sellers)
- Banks (ensures payouts go to the correct person)
- TradeAv (keeps the marketplace safe)
Stripe must legally collect:
- Personal identity information
- Government-issued ID
- A verified bank account
This process is known as KYC — “Know Your Customer” and is required for all payment processors worldwide.
Without completing identity verification, Stripe cannot release your payouts.
