How to Create a Listing on TradeAv – Classified
Creating a Classified listing on TradeAv is simple. Follow the steps below to set up your item correctly and ensure buyers can contact you directly to arrange purchase and payment.
Step 1 – Start Your Listing
Go to Start Listing. This will open Create Listing – Step 1 of 2.
Choose a Category
When you click on a category, additional fields will automatically unlock. These options will not appear until the category is selected.
Choose a Listing Type
- Listing Type – Select Classified.
- Region – Australia and/or New Zealand.
- Currency – AUD or NZD.
Important: Always start by selecting the correct category. Nothing else will activate until a category is chosen.
Step 2 – Listing Details (Classified)
After clicking Next, you will see Create Listing – Step 2 of 2, where you enter all details about your Classified listing.
Standard Listing Fields
- Title – Clear, simple name of your item.
- Subtitle (optional, fee applies) – Extra detail for visibility.
- Description – Full details including features, condition, measurements, and faults.
Additional Details
- GST added at Checkout
- No GST Applies
- GST included in Price
- Certification Documents provided
- New Condition / Used Condition – Select the correct condition.
Listing Fields (Classified)
- Price (Optional) – Enter your asking price or leave blank if the buyer must contact you for pricing.
Images & Media
- Upload up to 20 images (JPG or PNG, under 5MB).
- Recommended upload size: 1000 × 1000 px.
- Displayed size: 460 × 460 px.
- Thumbnails: 300 × 300 px.
- Show multiple angles, labels, and any faults clearly.
YouTube Video (Optional)
- Upload to YouTube as Public or Unlisted.
- Copy the Video ID and paste it into the field.
- Displayed size: 425 × 349 px.
Additional Media (PDF)
- Additional Media (PDF Upload) – Upload PDF files for:
- Product certifications
- Maintenance or service records
- Datasheets and technical specifications
- User manuals
- Any official documentation verifying the product
Listing Options (Optional Upgrades)
- Featured – Appears in homepage rotation.
- Bold Title – Makes your title stand out.
- "SALE" Banner – Adds a SALE badge to your listing.
- Highlight – Highlights your listing in search results.
Shipping
Classified listings are typically arranged directly between buyer and seller. If your Classified listing allows shipping, follow the steps below.
Shipping will NOT work unless all steps below are completed.
- Enter a Cost (main shipping price).
- Enter an Additional Cost (multi-item shipping).
Even if shipping is $0 / Free, you must:
- Enter 0 in Cost
- Enter 0 in Additional Cost
- Click “Add”
If you do NOT click “Add”, shipping will NOT save and buyers will NOT see any shipping options.
- Pickup – Enable if you allow local pickup.
Payment Details
Classified listings are direct buyer–seller transactions. Payment is arranged between both parties.
- Payment Instructions – Add bank transfer details or payment notes.
- GST – Select the correct GST percentage if applicable.
Listing Duration
- 7 Days – Standard short-term listing.
- 14 Days – Gives buyers more time to contact you.
- 30 Days – Recommended for higher-value items.
- 60 Days – Longer visibility for specialised items.
- Good Till Cancelled (GTC) – Listing stays live until sold. This option has a $99 fee.
Select the duration that best suits your item. Duration is required for all Classified listings.
Additional Fees
- Seller Final Fee: 5%
- Minimum: $1.00 AUD
- Maximum: $399.00 AUD
- Optional upgrades (Featured, Bold Title, SALE, Highlight) add extra cost.
- Good Till Cancelled: $99 fee.
