How to Create a Listing on TradeAv – Auction
Creating an Auction listing on TradeAv is simple. Follow the steps below to set up your item correctly and ensure buyers can bid, view, and contact you without issues.
Step 1 – Start Your Listing
Go to Start Listing. This will open Create Listing – Step 1 of 2.
Choose a Category
When you click on a category, additional fields will automatically unlock. These options will not appear until the category is selected.
Choose a Listing Type
- Listing Type – Select Auction.
- Region – Australia and/or New Zealand.
- Currency – AUD or NZD.
Important: Always start by selecting the correct category. Nothing else will activate until a category is chosen.
Step 2 – Listing Details (Auction)
After clicking Next, you will see Create Listing – Step 2 of 2, where you enter all details about your auction listing.
Standard Listing Fields
- Title – Clear, simple name of your item.
- Subtitle (optional, fee applies) – Extra detail for visibility.
- Description – Full details including features, condition, measurements, and faults.

- GST added at Checkout
- No GST Applies
- GST included in Price
- Certification Documents provided
- New Condition / Used Condition – Select the correct condition.
Listing Fields (Auction)
- Starting Bid – The minimum amount the bidding will begin at.
- Reserve Price – The minimum amount you are willing to sell the item for. If bidding does not reach this amount, the item will not be sold.
- Buy Now Price – Allows a buyer to instantly purchase the item without bidding (if enabled). Leave blank if you do not want a Buy Now option.
- Accept Offers – Enable if you want buyers to send you offers during the auction.
- Taxable (GST 0%) – Select the correct GST percentage for your listing.
Images & Media
- Upload up to 20 images (JPG or PNG, under 5MB).
- Recommended upload size: 1000 × 1000 px.
- Displayed size: 460 × 460 px.
- Thumbnails: 300 × 300 px.
- Show multiple angles, labels, and any faults clearly.
YouTube Video (Optional)
- Upload to YouTube as Public or Unlisted.
- Copy the Video ID and paste it into the field.
- Displayed size: 425 × 349 px.
Additional Media (PDF)
- Additional Media (PDF Upload) – Upload PDF files for:
- Product certifications
- Maintenance or service records
- Datasheets and technical specifications
- User manuals or instructions
- Any official documentation verifying the product
Listing Options (Optional Upgrades)
- Featured – Appears in homepage rotation.
- Bold Title – Makes your title stand out.
- "SALE" Banner – Adds a SALE badge.
- Highlight – Highlights your listing in search.
Shipping (Very Important)
Shipping will NOT work unless all steps below are completed.
- Enter a Cost (main shipping price).
- Enter an Additional Cost (multi-item shipping).
Even if shipping is $0 / Free, you must:
- Enter 0 in Cost
- Enter 0 in Additional Cost
- Click “Add”
If you do NOT click “Add”, shipping will NOT save and buyers will NOT see any shipping options.
- Pickup – Enable if you allow local pickup.
- Always confirm your shipping shows under Added Shipping Options before submitting.
Payment & Tax Details
- Stripe – Shows if your account is connected.
- PayPal – Enable if you accept PayPal.
- Payment Instructions – Add bank transfer details or notes to the buyer.
- GST – Select the correct GST percentage.
Auction Timing Start and Duration
- Start Immediately – Leave the start date/time blank.
- Start Time – Schedule when the auction begins (optional).
- Duration – Choose how long the auction will run.
- Auto Relist – Enable this if you want your auction to automatically relist if it ends without a winning bidder. Useful if you want the item to stay visible until sold.
Additional Fees
- Seller Final Fee: 5%
- Minimum: $1.00 AUD
- Maximum: $399.00 AUD
- Any optional upgrades (Featured, Bold, SALE, Highlight) are added during listing.
Click on create listing
Tip: Add clear photos and an honest description to increase bidding activity and buyer confidence.
