PayPal Payments on TradeAv

TradeAv allows sellers to accept payments through PayPal in addition to Stripe card payments. PayPal is optional but recommended for buyers who prefer using their PayPal balance.

How to Enable PayPal

  1. Log in to your TradeAv account.
  2. Go to My Account → Listing Preferences → Payment.
  3. Tick the box: Accept PayPal.
  4. Enter your PayPal email address in the PayPal Email field.
  5. Click Save.

Your buyers will now see PayPal as a payment option at checkout.

Where Your PayPal Payments Go

When a buyer pays with PayPal, the funds go directly into your PayPal balance. TradeAv does not hold or handle PayPal funds.

Do PayPal Transfers to Your Bank Cost a Fee?

No. PayPal does not charge any fee for a standard bank transfer.

When withdrawing your money, you will see two options:

  • Standard Transfer – Free
Money arrives in 1–3 business days.
    This option has no fees.
  • Instant Transfer – Fee applies
    Money arrives within minutes.
PayPal charges a small fee (usually about 1%).

If you were charged a fee previously, it was because you chose the Instant Transfer option. Choosing Standard Transfer will always be free.

PayPal Transaction Fees (What PayPal Charges When a Buyer Pays You)

PayPal charges a fee each time a buyer sends you a payment. This fee is deducted automatically before the money reaches your PayPal balance.

Australian PayPal transaction fees:

  • 2.6% + 30¢ for domestic payments
  • 3.6% + fixed fee for international payments

These transaction fees are separate from withdrawal fees and apply to all PayPal sellers in Australia.

Why PayPal Needs Your Details

PayPal is a regulated financial service. By law, they must verify who is sending and receiving money. This prevents:

  • Fraud
  • Money laundering
  • Identity theft
  • Stolen card transactions
  • Illegal payments

PayPal may ask for:

  • Full legal name
  • Date of birth
  • Residential address
  • Phone number
  • Bank account details
  • Photo ID (Driver Licence or Passport)

This identity process is called KYC (Know Your Customer) and applies to all financial services.

You must complete PayPal verification to receive payments without delays.
